Hailing from Greece, I am a trained architect who fell in love with contemporary jewellery and maintain a workshop in Athens. Apart from my work being featured in design magazines, I have participated in several seminars on jewelry design and micro-sculpture as well as Greek and international exhibitions.
To me, creating jewellery is like working on a small-scale architectural project. The important difference is the absolute freedom of personal expression, the ability to have control on what I construct, for whom and why. I perceive the creative process as a constant flux of evolution and a quest for the unexpected, short for life. Thus, my work is a result of blissful, often unprecedented, yet focused experimentation.
I like to explore materials; stretch their boundaries and play with their textures.
As most architects, I obsess over pure lines and clear structures, but also like exploring the symbiosis of contradictory elements. I often work with shapes in repetition to create patterns and strive to get a balanced composition.
Sometimes I am also thrilled by the opportunity of giving multiple functions in a single piece and try to make versatile accessories. My work subtly carries my Greek origins, but also my feelings and perception of the world around me
