Mark G. Taber is an artist living and working in The Bronx, New York. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Sculpture degree from Rhode Island School of Design, and an Associates Degree in Archtectural Building/ Engineering Technology from the New England Institute of Technology. In 2006 he was a resident at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He was born in Rhode Island in 1972.
Creator's Perspective
The algorithm is a form of drawing. It describes the essential characteristics of the image. In this domain, the design of the algorithm is what determines the style. From there it can be developed. The artist working hand in glove with the computer is like a centaur, the man-computer teams that use artificial intelligence to play chess. In this way new forms and compositions will be discovered, and new complex styles developed. The goal is to uncover deep structure and reveal it in an image.
