Scott Eichler is an emerging artist living in Dallas, Texas in the USA. Scott started his career in fashion design, later transitioning to lead graphic and product design for MTV, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.
Scott's most recent collection, “The Inspirators” began as a personal project. During the turmoil of the past couple years, he looked to reach inward to those that inspired him creatively and to challenge himself to apply some of his techniques and process' to more figurative art. While “The Inspirators” fits well under the Pop Art moniker he looks beyond pure popular culture and looks to those who have shaped change and inspired millions by forging new ground.
Creator's Perspective
His first work “Star Man”, a portrait of David Bowie, one of his own personal creative inspirations, remains his favorite because of his personal connection and for how it exposed new fertile ground to explore.
He focused on the real man versus the characters he often presented himself as, thus Star Man presents a moment of creative contemplation rather than the more common in-character image of David Bowie we typically see. This same individual intensity is also found in his other works. Scott has a continual plan of personal “inspirators” he will create and will consider other cultural icons from the world of art, entertainment, sports, social and cultural change in his unique style as commissions.
