Hello, I’m Emily! I hail from Atlanta, GA but currently live outside of Tel Aviv. In my office-office I connect American college students with internships in Israel, and in my home office I create artwork as @emidoesit !
I love color and collecting things, and dreaming of a time when I’ll have enough shelf space to store them all! This fish lives in my kitchen and came from Pawleys Island, South Carolina where my dad grew up. The last time I visited there was bittersweet, as I hadn't been in two years and had to say goodbye to the house we spent much of our childhoods in. The house was decorated with kitschy, beach-themed paraphenalia, and paintings of the island by my great uncle. The fish reminds me of my family, that house, and the stories my dad tells about his childhood.
My boyfriend's parents have this same set of silverware, and I loved seeing them every time we went to their house--I just love their unique shape, and they have the perfect weight to them. When we moved in to our apartment, we had a few of the spoons and one fork and knife, from his grandmother's set. For my birthday, his parents gave us a full set of our own!
The jacket is from a thrift store, and the fit on me is...not great. It's a little big and shapeless, so not especially flattering, but I bought it for the print. I love to wear art, and more recently have been inspired to create more wearable art as well. When I put this jacket on, I feel like me.
