This unique piece features a crucifix 'fold' design. The red-hot metal is folded over and carefully hammered down the seam before being 'unfolded' back, revealing the 'fold' effect. The dish shape is then formed using a rawhide mallet, ensuring no hammer marks remain on the metal for a smooth, contemporary finish. The base is slightly flattened to stabilise the dish. The cross design is highlighted by gently hand-sanding the raised surface. This is a unique piece of contemporary ironwork.
